About

Hi, I’m Allie DePaulo, the founder of Hannah Parker Boutique.

Originally from Brandon, Manitoba, I’ve always had a deep love for my community, for nature, and for travel. After spending 17 years in the rural town of Anola, Manitoba, I’ve recently settled in Oakbank, where I continue to be inspired by the journey of life.

Those who know me well, know how much I enjoy meeting new people, empowering entrepreneurs, and creating meaningful connections. I’m also very nostalgic, which is why I chose the name for my brand—it speaks to both my passions and my personal journey.

Hannah Parker Boutique is a reflection of all the things I love: incredible scents inspired by my travels, partnerships with Canadian makers I know and admire, a curated clothing line, and a collection of thrifted pieces I can’t wait to share.

Who is Hannah Parker?

In 1893 a women travelled across the ocean with her four young children to start a new life in Canada. Her husband could not accompany her as he had passed prior to the trip. The information surrounding his passing is varied from accidental drowning to a robbery that lead to his murder. As the family home was sold and the family was ready to depart, Hannah carried on alone to start a new life.

She ended up in Manitoba, just west of Brandon, and after some time and much hardship, settled on property overlooking the Assinaboine River Valley where oak trees grew so abundant and deep she called the farmstead Oak Bank. It was here, in 1900, she had a very large barn built to shelter her horses and cattle.

Hannah was a well respected business woman, farmer and midwife, delivering several babies over her years in the area.

This land and the surrounding area is still farmed today by our cousins, and the barn built in 1900 still stands, a symbol of traditions and a legacy of tenacious women and men who overcame the odds and continue to love and serve in their communities. When I get a chance to visit this place overlooking the valley, I am immediately connected and it always feels like home.

Hannah Parker (Stott) was my great great grandmother and to be able to honour her in this way brings me so much joy.
